Description : Suhbat (Companionship) with the Auliyaa is imperative for moral reformation and spiritual elevation. Without the company of the Auliyaa this is not normally possible. Suhbat of the Auliyaa has been the Sunnah of the Ummah from the very inception of Islam. In the first phase it was Suhbat with the Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Then followed the Suhbat of the Sahaabah and then of the Auliyaa. And, this Sunnah has been transmitted down the centuries. No man, barring rare exceptions, gained spiritual ascendency without the Suhbat of the Auliyaa. Those who had attempted the spiritual sojourn alone, ended up in deviation, some even prostrating to shaitaan. Those who seek to plod this path of reformation and spiritual elevation without the guidance of the Auliyaa, in the end formulate for themselves cults of satanism. When the Suhbat — physical Suhbat — of the Auliyaa is not available, as is the case in the present day, the next best method is to study their lives and read in abundance the episodes, anecdotes, advices and admonition of the Mashaa-ikh.

Description : Self-reformation and roohani (spiritual) progress are not normally possible without the suhbat (companionship) of the Auliya. By sitting in the company of a true Shaikh of Tasawwuf, the sincere seeker of the truth achieves islah (reformation) of the nafs and attains spiritual progress. Unfortunately, in our day the old and beneficial system of the Khanqah is disappearing. Few gain the benefit of sitting in the company of a true Shaikh. The Masha- ikh too are rapidly departing from the world. This book, a compilation of some Malfoozat (statements, anecdotes, advices, prescriptions and spiritual remedies) of Hakimul Ummat Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (rahmatullah alayhi) will be a spiritual and a Deeni aid and guide to the sincere reader who searches for the true Deen. Where physical suhbat is not possible, the vacuum could be somewhat filled by reading carefully and acting according to the directions given in the Malfoozat of the Masha-ikh. Towards this end, this book fulfils the need. It is hoped that more books on the Malfoozat of Hakimul Ummat will be published from time to time, Insha'Allah.

Hayaat al-Muslimeen

Description : Rasulullah ( saws ) said: "Verily, Allah will send for this Ummah at the beginning of every century a person who will renew (reform and renovate) for it the Deen. " Hadhrat Hakimul Ummat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (rahmatullahi alayh) was one such Mujaddid (Reformer) as is mentioned in the hadith of Rasulullah (saws ). The condition of the Ummah at all levels and in all spheres of life is dismal and deplorable. The Ummah is grounded in the quagmire of decadence. It's state of dishonourable existence is indeed heart-rending to those who understand the value of Islam and the true position of the followers of Islam. The way of life of the Ummah in present times and the Islam handed down by Muhammadur Rasulullah ( saws ) fourteen centuries ago are entities widely divergent and pole apart. There is extremely little affinity between the present Ummah and the Islam of the Sahaabah of Rasulullah ( saws ). Spiritually, morally, culturally, socially and politically, the Muslim Nation has fallen to the lowest ebb. The Muslim Nation is bankrupt in all spheres of its life in relation to Islam.
