SIGNS OF THE HOUR

Hadhrat Hasan (radhiallahu anhu) narrated that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

"The Hour of Qiyaamah will not come to pass until people begin vieing (with o­ne another) in (the construction of) Musajid."

(Abu Dawood and Ibn Majah)

Hadhrat Anas (radhiallahu anhu) said that people will vie with o­ne another regarding (the construction of) Musaajid, but o­nly a few will inhabit the Musaajid (as musallis).

These Hadith narrations are adequate commentary for the wasteful and sinful exercises of pulling down existing Musaajid and indulging in unnecessary adornment and decoration involving enormous amounts at a time when the Ummah is floundering in dire straits of calamit and misfortune.
