In some quarters there is the misunderstanding that it is necessary to bring the mayyit to the Musjid for Janaazah Salaat. There is no such necessity. The Janaazah Salaat may be performed at home or in the yard or in any place. After the Salaat it should be taken directly for burial. The Janaazah may also be taken directly to the qabrustaan (cemetry) and the Salaat be performed anywhere inside or outside the Qabrustaan. However, when performing the Janaazah Salaat, the graves should not be infront of the musallis.
