VOL 16 NO 09: Kuffaar Uniforms-An Unworthy Project

Kuffaar Uniforms-An Unworthy Project

In the history of the Ulama-e-Haqq of South Africa, there has never been such a brazen exercise of can vassing baatil as the ‘Sponsor-a- Uniform’ ‘Project’ initiated by the Jamiatul Ulama of KwaZulu-Natal. The Jamiat, in colourful pamphlets, has appealed to the Muslim community to contribute Lillah and Zakaat funds for purchasing kuffaar style uniforms for secular school pupils. Putting a cherry of baatil on its pamphlet of baatil adver- tising its baatil project, the Jamiat proudly displays the western style haraam pants and shirt uniform for which it is soliciting Sadqaat from the Muslim public.

THE ULAMA

Although the haraam project for which Zakaat/Lillah funds are ear- marked for squandering, is attributed in the pamphlet to the Ulama of Natal, it is difficult at this stage to believe and ac- cept that indeed the large majority of Natal’s Ulama has condoned this un- Islamic project. It appears that some of the misguided office workers took the onus upon themselves to initiate this haraam project in the name of the Ulama of the province of Natal. We are positive that there are numerous mem- bers of the Jamiat who are not aligned with this baatil and haraam project.

Undoubtedly, the Ulama as a whole, are morally and spiritually wallowing in the doldrums. Fitnah has undoubt- edly become the capital of numerous among the Ulama of this era. The Jamiat’s haraam uniform project is a glaring specimen of the type of fitnah which emanates under Deeni guise from the Ulama. It is also acknowledged that the sponsors of the ’Sponsor-a- Uniform’ project are fully within the purview of Rasulullah’s condemnation:

“Their Ulama will be the worst under the canopy of the sky. From them will emanate fitnah, and fitnah will rebound on them”, but, we believe that numerous Ulama who happen to be members of the Jamiat must be dismayed by this act of transgression which is brazenly advertised as virtue, and by the treachery against the Shariat perpetrated by some misguided elements in that or- ganisation. Any contrary statement which the office of the Jamiat may issue to justify its treachery, will be devoid of substance and bereft of truth.

APPALLED
We are personally aware and in touch with many members of the Ulama of Natal, who are averse to this haraam project, and appalled by it. We can only hope that the sincere members of the Jamiat will institute steps to rectify the evil and the injustice with which the miscreants in the office have be- smirched the name of the Jamiatul Ulama which was an organisation estab- lished about half a century ago by sin- cere Ulama-e-Haqq. Undoubtedly, the name of the Jamiat has been hijacked by elements who are alien to Islamic morality and the Shariah.

HARAAM
The Ulama had long preached the virtues of Islamic Dress. The Sunnah is replete with such virtues and the incum- bency of Islamic dress is an established fact and teaching of the Shariah.

Tashabbuh bil Kuffaar (emulating the ways, styles and customs of non- Muslims), every decent Muslim knows, is haraam. Years of ta’leem has pro- duced exceptionally good results in the sphere of Islamic dressing. Innumerable Muslims of all walks of life have changed from western garb to Islamic dress. Many years ago, Muslims would feel embarrassed to appear in public dressed Islamically. But, Alhamdulillah, the effect of the Ulama’s ta’leem has changed that attitude of mental serfdom.

SULAHA
The lamentable development now is that those aligned with the Ulama have set in motion a reversal process—the process of weaning away Muslims from the dress style of the Sulaha. Kuffaar dress is being encouraged by Ulama and Zakaat/Lillah funds are being solicited for a haraam act. It is haraam for Mus- lims to contribute any type of funds for this haraam project initiated by trans- gressors in the Jamiat’s office.

FOR WHO?
In its ‘Sponsor-a-Uniform’ pam- phlet/appeal, the Jamiat’s office has not mentioned whether it has embarked onthis project for non-Muslim pupils or for Muslim pupils or for both. If this project is intended for non-Muslims, utilization of Lillah and Zakaat funds is haraam. It is not permissible to utilize such funds for a haraam dress style nor is it permissible to promote it. Zakaat will NOT be discharged.

The distinct impression gained from the pamphlet is that the Jamiat is en- couraging Muslims to adopt a kuffaar dress style. In fact, this is not a mere impression, the pamphlet actively pro- motes the haraam dress style.

If the project is intended for Muslim pupils, then too it is haraam to contrib- ute funds, especially Zakaat, for this purpose. Zakaat and Lillah have to be used for gaining Allah’s Pleasure, not for appeasing shaitaan. The Qur’aan Majeed states with great clarity:

“Verily, Sadqaat is for the Fuqara, the Masaakeen…….” It is naked ef- frontery hurled against the Deen to so- licit Zakaat and Lillah for a haraam pro- ject. While countless millions of Mus- lim children are being weaned away from the Deen by the onslaught of kufr evangelism in many parts of the globe, the Jamiat indulges in the haraam lux- ury of soliciting Zakaat and Lillah funds for the promotion of an un-Islamic dress style.

Ulama promoting un-Islamic dress styles and soliciting Zakaat and Lillah funds for such a haraam practice is unheard of in even the ranks of the Ulama-e-Soo’ (evil molvis and sheikhs). It will not be an exaggeration to say that in the history of Islam, there is no precedent even among the Ahl-e-Bid’ah for the Jamiat’s pro- motion of western kuffaar dress.

The sponsors of the kuffaar uniform project further say with effrontery in their pamphlet: “May Allah Ta’ala reward you!”. Allah Ta’ala does not re- ward for haraam. The ‘reward’ for haraam is Hell-Fire, not thawaab. Rasu- lullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) ex- pressing his concern and fear, said: “I fear for my Ummah the Aimmah-e- Mudhilleen.” They are the Ulama who mislead Muslims. They divert the peo- ple from Siraatul Mustaqeem donning Deeni garb while promoting kuffaar garb.
